Mellwood Arts Center is on Mellwood Ave close to downtown Louisville

The new studio is in the Mellwood Arts Center, conveniently located for students in both Louisville and Southern Indiana. The studio address is 1860 Mellwood Ave, Louisville KY 40206, suite #277. The Mellwood Arts Center is on a main road and has lots of parking! Easy to get to from I-65, I-64, I-71 and Brownsboro Road.

Most people find the Mellwood Arts Center easily, but it can be a little tricky to find the right room inside the Center. Short version: the class is near Absolute Fitness on the second floor of the main building (Building B). Follow driving directions, below, to get to the Mellwood Arts Center. Then park in the main lot and come in the main entrance (through the large iron gates). You will be in a long narrow outdoor courtyard with studios and shops coming off on either side.

To the studio using the outdoor route:

Walk straight ahead past the Patticakes restaurant (on the left side).

Walk UNDERNEATH the walkway spanning the courtyard.

Take the next door (double doors) on the left.

Make an immediate left into the elevator lobby and take the elevator to the 2nd floor.

To the studio using the indoor route:

Take the first door on the left after you come through the main entrance gates. You will be in the Arts Center's lobby.

Walk towards the back of the room and up the stairs to the 2nd floor.

Walk straight ahead to the main corridor and take a left.

Walk straight down the corridor. On your right, you will pass windows overlooking the courtyard, then the elevator.

From Indiana or downtown Louisville via I-64E towards Lexington:

Take Story Avenue exit (exit 7) onto Story Avenue (one way) and get into left lane immediately.
Left at first traffic light (100 yards) onto N Spring St.
Left at next traffic light (200 yards) onto Mellwood Avenue.
Get into the center or right lane (to avoid problems when Mellwood becomes 2-lane) and go 6/10 mile, crossing both Frankfort and Brownsboro Roads.
Mellwood Arts Center is a large building on the right. Park in the main lot on the side of the building and come in the main entrance. Then follow the directions above.

From other points via I-64W towards downtown and Indiana:

Take Mellwood Ave / US-42 / US-60 (exit 7) onto Mellwood Avenue (one way).
Get into the center or right lane (to avoid problems when Mellwood becomes 2-lane) and go 6/10 mile, crossing both Frankfort and Brownsboro Roads.
Mellwood Arts Center is a large building on the right. Park in the lot on the side of the building and come in the main entrance. Then follow the directions above.

From other points via I-71:

Take Zorn Avenue exit ramp (exit 2).
At the bottom of the ramp, turn right (if you came from I-71 S) or left (if you came from I-71 north) onto Zorn. Do NOT drive towards the river.
Move into the right hand lane and turn right at the first light onto Mellwood Avenue.
Right onto Mellwood Avenue. The intersection with Mellwood is the first right-hand turn after the exit ramp from the North
Drive for about one mile. Mellwood Arts Center is a large building on the left. Park in the lot on the side of the building and come in the main entrance. Then follow the directions above.
